Two fine and applicable points about Homazah surah

1.       We are not permitted to blame either ourselves or others as a gossip or in front of them. That is, under-consideration of something not belonging to us but possessed by the merciful Allah is none of our business.

·         The cause of blaming

The belief of someone that their “wealth” is a reason for them to be counted better than others will rationally lead to a similar miss-belief about their “abilities”. This is due to the both thoughts being originated from a similar assumption that: “These are mine not God’s”. Such assumption, although may be rejected by the person in shallow examination, is deeply governing an arrogance which prevents the person to express his/her sincere friendship towards others. This flaw in one’s theistic view will, in turn, cause him to blame other people.

This point of view forms the philosophy behind the teachings of prophets and God chiefs who taught ethics by attracting people toward God. Lacking this deep view, no one would be able to correct his internal emotions towards a peaceful sincere friendship to others, nor would the teachers gain any success in upgrading the people’s ethicsfor a deephonest respect to others. Disregarding this philosophical nature of friendship by some believers who try to prevent others from gossipmay make their statements to take the form of blaming and even affect their target people negatively. Such bad behaviorism is counted as a reason for people’s dislike towards believers. A dislike that prevents the society from further progress. That is why God has strictly prevented such aggressive actions in “Homazah” surah.

2.     The hell-sitters are readily engaged in their self-prepared hells. The flames of these hells appear when a “Homaz” and “Lomaz” person opens his mouth to bad words. The flames which also burn the heart of the one being addressed by such person. The action of those who have recognized something other than God and have fallen far from God teachings crumble themselves and others is in the crumbling hell (Hotamah) made by them. While this torment is derived from the inside of the “Homaz” and “Lomaz” person and burns deep layers of the other person the moral shape ( (صورت ملکوتیof it completely corresponds to it.

In The Name of Allah

In this surah God wants to emphasize and warn the penalty of stocking money without having heavenly intentions. Those who collect money avariciously imagine that they are needless of others and this causes them to be egotistic. In this case they consider a higher status for themselves in the society thet allow them to backbite others, decide for them, talk about their faults, mock and make fun of them in their presence or absence.

However, God seriously censure such actions.

  • They humiliate people by their words and actions in this world, so God crushes them in hereafter.
  • They destroy other people's lives by their words and actions in this world, as a result God set fire on their soul in hereafter.
  • They break people's heart and ignite their soul by their words and actions in this world, consequently this fire entangles them and surrounds them in hereafter.

Humaza Surah                                                                                                                                 Homework no.4

Humaza Surah is 104th Surah, Makki with 9 verses. It is a Sever threat to who collects property. Moreover the Surah mentions collector’s character as scandal-monger and backbiter; He thinks property makes him last forever. This Surah explains its words by itself. First verse is Sever threat to “Homaza” and “Lomaza”. Second and third verses are introduction of “Homaza” and “Lomaza”. Forth verse explains the results of “Hamz” and “Lamz” with “Hotama” description. Fifth and sixth verses explain “Hotama” by “Naro Allah”. The last verses 7th, 8th and 9th introduce “Naro Allah”. Generally Surah speaks about Social-Economical matters.

Homaza Surah starts with the word “Vail” (woe). Vail means “how awful, calamity and misfortune!” To understand these meanings, we should return to Quran. In Quran the word Vail repeated more than 25 times. Some of these are:

(37)Maryam

(65)Zokhrof

(7)Jathye

(60)zariyat

(15,24 ,19, 28, 34, 37, 40, 45, 47, 49)Morsalat , (10) Motafafin

(1)Motafafin

Briefly we can say, the word Vail has been used in Quran for: Disbelievers, those whose hearts have been hardened to the remembrance of Allah, polytheists, wrongdoers (those who were unjust), every sinful liar, deniers (rejecters) on that day, sellers who deal in fraud and finally who pray but are heedless of their prayers, show off and deny aid. It shows “Vail” is used for the states that are established and repeated.

“Vail” (woe) sets to every kind of backbiter (Homaza and taunter (Lomaza). These are the people with these two states as their characters. These persons collect and count their property (wealth). Since their wrong delusion about lasting forever, they are not satisfied with the required amount of money or other type of properties. So they gather money and feel independent. Insurgency starts with domination of others.

Nay! Verily, he will surely cast into the crusher “Hotamah”. It is an ablaze fire which has been kindled by Allah's Wrath. The flames are overspread the hearts of disbelievers, Verily, it shall enclose the disbelievers tightly, in the pillars of flames which are tall and stretched.

The result of each action produces genetically. So the type of fire in the hereafter, depends on the world's action. Burning others hearts in this world leads to the flames which aims the hearts.

Once upon a time there was a girl who had really difficult days in her life. She used to believe she couldn’t do anything right and she wasn’t enough. These were her thoughts that always were haunting her; she couldn’t believe if someone told her the opposite that she could be someone special. She was always looking for others’ confirmation. She hated herself because of these feelings. There were the times that she didn’t want to continue her life; she was so fragile and hopeless. But why just because of all the people who thought they were better than her because in her life there were some defamer and slanderer people who had bothered her harshly not even for a good reason just because they had more money. They had killed her not physically but spiritually they had cut her wings by their harsh words. (It was her fault too, by believing and accepting their empty words.)

I think that is why God will cast those people in  “Hotamah” the crusher, the fire of Allah which will overspread their heart cause their burned people’s heart in their lives. So their punishment makes a sense because God is fair they will face what they have done in their life. No one can run away from judgment day.

But our story doesn’t end here God saved her and gave her a second chance, he sent as many signs as she needs for believing herself and for standing on her feet again. We are not alone God is watching us he knows what we need, trust him.

In The Name of ALLAH

Al_HumaZah: A Taunter and Backbiter

Revealed at Mecca

In All societies, there are some people who get used to making a hell for the others by their scornful words or actions; why they do so, what the individual and social consequences of their undesirable behaviors are and how it is possible to treat or prevent these wrongdoings.

Apparently, with respect to this sura, these people most likely belong to the rich or influential class of society owning immense property as well as high social status or titles. They feel superior and consider themselves to be owners of the lower class of society. They believe that by their accumulated money _ which is so often being counted and checked_ they may have an everlasting worldly life. That's why, they are always concerned of losing some or all of their wealth or social stand and do certainly take others as potential rivals or somehow their enemies.

Additionally, these well_off people give this right to themselves to hurt their inferior ones; i.e, weaken and sometimes smash their confidence or beliefs by their severe reproaching or mocking gestures and facial expressions in front of others so as to keep their permanent dominancy and control over them. Naturally, they hardly tolerate to see persons much more talented or successful than themselves and instantly make a devil plan to berate or wipe them out by terror of their characters. On the other hand, the lower class do not see any chance to exhibit and develop their talents and abilities. Gradually, the society will turn to be monopolized by a small rich group.

Consequently, this sort of society ends in regression. To avoid reaching this, there should be some practical treatments to stop this defective trend in its course and thereby make it ineffective. According to this sura, God strongly condemn these kinds of degrading and humiliating others in any case and threaten the backbiters to be thrown in the blazing Hell_fire that they themselves set it by their scornful remarks. This blazing fire originates from Allah's wrath toward these affluent taunters.

The last but not the least point to deem over, it is obvious that each and every member of a society will satisfy with his healthy progressive society if and only if all people esp. the rich ones enhance their individual and social pieties with being less boastful of their assets and possessions and never look down on the others particularly inferior ones; adversely, they should and must consider all their wealth and property given by God; practice to obey God sincerely and follow His Divine rules obediently; speak and treat other lower class of society modestly and eventually be in accordance with God will and satisfaction.

These jealous, selfish and back biting hoarders of treasures, they are intoxicated in such a way by the wine of pride that they enjoy to insult, criticize and mock everybody and made it a mean of entertainment in their own circle of people living around them. These selfish people, who are arrogant with their wealth, enjoy talking or suggesting evil of men or women by word, innuendo, behavior, mimicry, sarcasm, or insult. Their painful future, how they are mercilessly thrown in the hell and before everything the burning hell dominates upon their hearts and burns there existence and soul as it was the home of the total arrogance, egoism and evils, the fire which is persistent, burning with no end is described crystal clear that leaves no doubt … there would be a judgment day.

Al-Homazah

He was someone living among the others. He was born and grew up somewhere, went to school or maybe later to university. All the time there was an undeniable emptiness in his heart and life which could not be filled with everything easily.

However, when he started to make money, he felt differently! He considered himself as a powerful one! Money helped him to stand on his feet, and do a lot of things he could not do before! He thought it was a permanent power! Something he always needed and desired. At last, he had found a source to fill the emptiness of his life with, and stay protected and safe behind the walls of a strong fort made of it. The support to guarantee his life forever!

He was too proud of himself. He tended to progress more and get perfect faster. Actually, progress and perfection were the matters of patience, self-control, planning, and proper selections even if they were the hardest to take. But he was not willing to be patient or proceed with an appropriate self-control, and his plan was to select some easy shortcuts to take. Besides, he believed in himself as a very capable and special person, and the greed in his heart to get more and more through the easiest ways made him think that people who were trying hard and thinking about the others were just stupid!

He had found the life's balance; he made more money to get more power to make more money! He was decisive to keep the balance forever, but how hard it was to keep the balance in the world full of smart and strong rivals and clever and creative employees who potentially could be his rivals-to-be.

Smelling the danger of losing his position and balance and due to the disturbing worries and anxiety, he was desperately trying to resolve the problems. Against the rivals, he tried to ruin their reputations by some ill and untrue rumors, and consequently made the others distrust them and sometime later they were pushed out of the cycle. And for the poor employees?! The story was different because he was their boss! So, he began to scorn and mock them in front of the others, and he never skipped any opportunities to belittle them. The unlucky employees' reactions were different; some lost their temper and left the job, but the others lost their confidence and continued to work there as his slaves just to take the orders.

Was it a victory for him? Not really! He had pushed the rivals out and had repressed his employees, but in fact he was undermining his own position. By removing suitable and great people from their proper roles and posts, the community was being misled to lose its unity, be smashed into pieces, and so become stand still and later regress. However, there were always a lot of threats! What about possible new rivals and people around??? Or what about any regression in his business??? The everlasting presence of those threats was equal to his everlasting worries and anxiety. He had not made any true friends to rely on, in fact he was not able to trust anyone except himself and his evil money. So, he was never in peace, never happy or satisfied, and never optimistic and hopeful about future. He turned into an unhealthy person both physically and mentally. Now the one who had claimed to keep the life's balance for his own sake, was unable to keep the balance of his own body and mind!

The permanent hazard of losing his position, the uncontrollable and increasing greed in his heart and soul to get more and more and ruin more and more lives, the growing worries and anxiety, the devastating loneliness, and his sick body and incapable mind had turned him into a hideous monster turning his back to everything divine, and had pushed him into a vicious circle which was a real hell.

He was burning in the fire he had lit and fed himself. Throughout his life he tended to stay permanently protected behind the walls of a fort made of money and power. And now, by losing everything divine in and out as much as he could, he was behind the tall and stretched walls of a fort all around him, but as a prisoner of his ill mind and heart and in the fort made of burning fire. A prisoner who was going to stay and burn there forever.
