Dear Classmates

Referring to the homework for your vacation!

One of the main intentions for this homework is to cover all suras in The holy Qur'an at a glance. The following table is suggested for organizing your reading.

These steps are expected:

1. Open the Holy Quran(Start from the very beginning)

2. Read the first verse(s) and write down them in the 2nd column(So easy!!!)

3. According to the verse(s) of the previous step, write down the intention or the main subject the sura is going to talk about and write it down in the 3rd column.

4. Choose special symbols for your understanding grade; Some suras are new(Hollow circle) and some are familiar(Solid circle).

The whole process for a single sura should not take more than 10 minutes (By a simple calculation it would take 1140 minutes which is equal to 19 hours)!!

Voluntary step:

Mark the suras that have similar subjects(According to their first verses) and make sura families. In further steps in your 5th book, you can even acquire the ability of comparing between the members of a single family.

Dear Classmates

As our 4th book, Sura-oriented Tadabbor is finished, we plan to review and practice all the lessons on a single sura. The outcome can be a conference or a booklet on that sura. the picked sura is "Naazeat" sura. The steps you should take in a two-week timeline are the following:

1. Please read the sura at least 20 times (By different models as you wish)

2. Apply classification methods on the sura:

  2.1. Subjective-sequential classification

Try to classify the sura to general topics in less than 15 minutes then make the topics more specific due to the important details

  2.2. Hagh and Batel Trend

Only classify the verses and do not analyze the resulting table.

  2.3. Facts and human actions

Speed is important here, based on the Arabic literature and the lesson learned classify the verses in to these two categories.

  2.4. Different levels of facts

Classify the verses in the pyramid mentioned in Ghaaf sura.

These findings along with a summary from the methods mentioned in the class should be with you in the next session.

If you had more time, You can enter finding SUVs and SBVs and complete the diagram in previous homeworks.

All the praise only belongs to Allah...

Dear Classmates:

1. According to the new lesson, read through "Al-Rahman: The Merciful" sura and find Ehkam or general verses (independent from substrates).

After finding those verses, Please compare them in a table from pure and impure point of view.

Then introduce the verses aiming towards Ehkam as General(Ehkam) components and the verses aiming towards details(Tafsil) as general to detail(Ehkam to Tafsil) components.

Finally focus on the refrain verse in the sura and draw the diagram pointed out in Homework #25.

2. Do remember to gather the translated words till now and email them as soon as possible for our telegram channel feed.

3. We are still waiting for finalized "Falagh workshop" program (Although it has already been postponed)

4. Bear in mind to summarize the methods mentioned in this book for our conclusive session

Dear Classmates:

5 different types of Tafsil or forms of expressing in detail was introduced as:

1- Major-Minor type

2- Similitude type

3- Nature-based type

4- Hereafter type

5- literal-expressive type

According to these five types and the distinctive groups of verses in Yasin sura, explore the common points or concepts between them. This commonness can be direct or indirect, by a word or mainly conceptual. After finding the bridging items, introduce a key concept in the sura having the role of returning the whole sura or details into a general fact. In addition point out the general fact and think about its differences/similarities with the starting general fact.

The unexplored items are specified by question mark in the diagram below.

Dear Classmates

1. For the next week, Please read through "Yaasin" sura and discover the general verse(Ehkam) by one of the methods mentioned in Fussilat sura. it is recommended to use starting or ending verses in the sura as "Ehkam".

It is noted that you should be able to explain the possible relations between your chosen verse and the details in the sura. The verses are picked randomly and you are asked to define them verbally.

2. For the Falagh sura workshop suggest a plan longing 30 minutes and being suitable for the students of Foreign languages and literature faculty. The due date for sending your ideas would be sunday 29th of Azar. We look forward to hearing from you.

P.S.: Please do not work on Fussilat sura anymore for now and focus on the new homework.

Dear Classmates

After finishing the logical statements of "Falaq" sura, please brainstorm on producing needed materials for a workshop titled "Paying attention to the signs of change".

It is better to think about a 30_minute performance only. Do not think that the whole sura should be presented. In this workshop we only plan to define the word "Falaq". a written text as a brochure can also accompany our work. Think about clips or some film parts focusing on tracking the signs, further happenings and also avoiding the occurrence of the event.

The introductory text in the Falaq sura's lesson can be inspiring as:

Waaahh! Waahh!! A newborn infant comes into this world. His family is so impressed by the infant; they are delighted hearing his cry. This world is the world of signs. Crying is the medium between parents and the infant. The newborn feels left vulnerable and cries to soothe himself and calms down in his mother’s bosom. Once feeling hungry, the infant senses the sign and breaks out into cry. The parent interprets this sign and feeds the baby. Once not familiar with signs and not able to use them, the infant would perish. In Quran “sign” is referred to as “Falaq”. It is also the case with every one living on this planet.

Good luck

Dear Classmates

As you can remember we were covering the 4th book or in other words the methods of classification in each sura.

So far we reached the subject "Ehkam & Tafsil" or "General subjects Vs. Details"

Here we face "Situation-free verses" presenting general subject just like introduction or conclusion in an essay. furthermore, "Situation-based Verses" are the verses containing details pertaining to the general subject just like the body part of the essay or the supporting idea.

The question is how can we find the SFVs? There exists a fact that mainly starting(ending) verses are the SFVs. Based on this, please read through "Fosselat" sura and try to classify it according to the first verse of the sura then write down 20 logical statements from the possible relations.

The following table can help you:
