In The Name of Allah

“Nas” surah is seeking refuge to God. God asks his prophet to say “I seek refuge to God” to be protected from temptation. It seems that this temptation is the result of lack of knowledge, ignorance, and inactivity (which is the same as Falagh surah). This temptation causes obstruction and delays the activities that should not be postponed. This lateness is a kind of temptation which happens continously.

Such temptation and delay has grave consequences and because of that we should seek refuge to our “Rabb” as well as “Malek” and “Elah”. It shows that we would be ambushed by a great and constant danger that will attack us in case of our negligence.

Since the danger is very mortal and we can not face it alone we need help. The help should be so comprehensive in order to defend such jeopardy we seek to three names of our God: “Rabb” who is manager and trainer of all our needs; “Malek” who is the owner of kingship, ample strength, and influential order; and “Elah” who is who is the real worshiped, he purifies his servents for himself.

Al-Nas Surah

I seek refuge” is the key word the “Al-Nas” surah starts with. The first question that comes in mind after hearing this key word is that “from what someone should seek refuge?” However, answering this question is preceded by talking about two other issues due to their importance. Firstly, the human is being called as “Al-Nas” regarding his social perspective. Being the title of the surah and repeated in almost all verses (except verse 4) the emphasis put on this word by the surah is highlighted. Secondly, the one with whom we seek refuge (God) is introduced using three titles whose meanings are in close logical relation with “seeking refuge”. “Lord” (رب) is used according to its meaning in organizing and managing the human and the world he lives in. “King” is used to imply the God’s protection capability provided by the penetration of his commands and, finally, “God” (اله) due to the obedience paid by humans to it.

After introducing the God as the best shelter, the surah talks about the hazard itself. The hazard is caused by the obsessions and doubts caused by whisper of devils and devil-like humans to the “Sadr” of “Nas”. This, in turn, gradually prevents the heart (which is surrounded by Sadr) from positive inspirations posed by God’s memory and the angels. This obstruction eventually damps motivations towards good actions. By the God’s memory being strengthened in someone’s heart (قلب), the devil’s access to “Sadr” can be blocked. This is what the surah intends at the initial verses by repeating the name of God in different forms that also deliver logical correlations with the meanings of the surah.

In The Name of ALLAH

According to this sura ( Nas which means "people"), God commands His honorable messenger, who is as a role model for all nations, to seek refuge with his Creator (RAB), Almighty Ruler (MALEK) and God (ELAH) of mankind from a menace.

Taking refuge with Almighty is not a verbal repetition of these verses but one should keep his beliefs and deeds away from any devilish thoughts and inner temptations as the threat enters to the human's heart (Sadr) where the process and outcome of his beliefs and perceptions emerge; otherwise, it seems he is repeating the names of some prescribed drugs without taking them to cure his illness.

To wrap it up, one of the most jeopardized harms from which we should take shelter is the wrong moral of destructive thoughts and beliefs, sometimes by the devil_like people and jinni and sometimes by the inner self_temptations whispering in our hearts to deviate us from the right path. That's why, All_Knowing Almighty God of mankind is the best trustworthy shelter to guard our beliefs and perceptions safe.

A Brief Discussion of An-Nas Surat

An-Nas surat can also be called Inductions (Elghaat), or Recovery Nature (Fitrat) and Understanding Human Servitude (Obudiyat). This surat trains refugees from an evil.

An-Nas contains an evil beside three havens. One evil is the evil of temptations and the three havens are The Creator (Rab) of mankind, the King (Malik) of mankind and the God (Elahe) of mankind.

Vice versa Al-Falagh Surat contains four evils: entire creatures, darkness of the night when it overtakes whole things, blowers in knots and jealous when jealousy. The one haven is the creature of dawn.

To elucidate it evil of An-Nas surat is more important than Al-Falagh surat. Comparison of evils in these two paired surats shows outer evils in Al-Falagh surat and inner one in An-Nas surat. However, the outer evils can be created from the inner one.

Understanding of the Creator (Rab), the King (Malik) and the God (Elahe) of mankind can improve our life, lifestyle and structure of life respectively. It also helps us to avoid evils of An-Nas and also AL-Falagh surats.

'Naas' surah like other surahs in Quran is unique and very special. It particularly mentions three names of Allah, talks about human-Allah relationship considering his needs, weaknesses and deficiencies, and reveals a lot of facts and true points about mankind in social substrates and in his encounter with the others which in the lack of some protection ends up with individual misleading and destruction (and consequently social misleading and destruction). Besides, it introduces the evil surrounding him to show the way and lead him to the safest status and protect him from all that evil.

In confrontation with Allah's names, in fact, you get informed about your own needs and deficiencies. Here in first three verses in 'Naas' surah, you face three names which are 'Rabben Naas', 'Maleken Naas' and 'Elahen Naas'. Each name reveals some secrets about human needs. 'Rab' is the only creator who is able to lead you to your perfection which is the highest degree you can reach considering your abilities and capacity. 'Malek' is the only King, Ruler and Owner, so human who is owned by Him should receive all his life's orders and instructions from Him. 'Elah' shows that human has this need deep inside himself to cherish, love and worship someone or something. However, the only One who deserves to be cherished, loved and worshipped is Allah who is people's only 'Elah' or God.

In the first verse, you see 'A`oozo' which means seek refuge, and then there is 'seek refuge with 'Rabben Naas', 'Maleken Naas' and 'Elahen Naas' that in fact has two parts of Rab-Malek-Elah and 'Naas'. So, 'Naas' which means people in confrontation with other people need to seek refuge with Naas's Rab, Malek and Elah who leads them to perfection, the correct instructions and the true love and connection through worship among the other 'Naas' who can mislead them.

In addition, there is another prominent point at the beginning of the first verse which is 'Ghol' that means express what in your inner side is with any possible means; to do so one should make effort and take action. In fact, 'Ghol A`oozo' mentions the importance and need for action while seeking refuge in 'Rabben Naas', 'Maleken Naas' and 'Elahen Naas', so it is not just saying some words and doing nothing. The true 'A`oozo' is realized through efforts human makes and through actions he takes according to the best and finest instructions given to him all throughout Quran to walk on the way of perfection.

In verse four, it reveals the thing human has to seek refuge from, which is the evil/harm of stealthy whispered temptations. Then in verse five, it mentions the target of that evil in human inner side which is 'Sodoor' or hearts - 'Sodoor' is the plural of 'Sadr' and 'Sadr' is the the part of human inner side which all his understanding is expressed and exports from there; 'Sadr' seems to be weak and tangible in the lack of Allah's protection. And at last, in verse six, it talks about someone from whom human has to seek refuge who are some jinns and 'Naas'.

To sum up, in 'Naas' surah, you notice that human needs to be led to his perfection, to be instructed, and to love and worship, but in his social life and in his confrontation with the others and on his way of perfection there are some evil/Satanic army who are some jinns and 'Naas'/people that whisper stealthy temptations to affect and influence his 'Sadr' and consequently mislead him. Therefore, he has to make some efforts and take some actions for his perfection while seeking refuge in 'Rabben Naas', 'Maleken Naas' and 'Elahen Naas' because He is the Only Creator who is able to guide him to his perfection, the Only Perfect Owner and Instructor, the Only One who deserves to be cherished, loved and worshipped, and the Only Protector who can protect him from all that evil.

Dear Classmates

As you can remember this topic was covered in brief,, Meaning that all the book was not covered and the surahs were left unread. We decided to cover these topics for completing our teaching task but this class ha a different form.

1. It is totally presentation-based by the members and only in conclusion part we have the teaching part.

2. The teaching would be bi-lingual.

3. All the members should be ready for presentation and they would be randomly chosen.

4. The notion is "One Session - One Surah", so for the person not having dealt with it it would not be useful.

5. All the members have to have an output according to the surah and it should be put on the weblog before their attendance.

5.1. The table for possible outputs can be downloaded from the link below. you can tick out what you have done in this table:

                                                                 Download-Presentation Models

6. The members without any output are not allowed to attend the class. They can do it behind the class door and by delivering the output they can attend the rest of the class.

7. This course would be performed for 3 trial sessions and with the feedback gained we would decide to continue in this way or change our strategy.

8. We would have the presentation of "miss Kourki" in each session too. Most of the teaching part would be performed by her.

9. Think that we are asked to teach to a group of people or present a conference, So do your best to improve your understandings of each surah by any mean: listening to voices of other classes, attending those classes or discussion and etc.

In The Name Of Allah

1) Not only we should rely on our senses to conceive a subject, but we had better to use our imagination power to see even things not being able to see them by our eyes or other senses.

2) Noticing that there are some people needing our care and confidence so as to be motivated.

3) In order to feed a needy person, it is essential to consider what s/he needs first and/or  what are his/her characteristics matching his needs  then in which field it is better to help him/her.

4) If we fulfill what God expect us to do, God may raise our honors and respects in the eyes of other people to see and appreciate our good deeds without any publicity; that is, it is adequate to purify our intentions as well as our actions only for God.

5) Apparently, there are some people whose basic needs are not easily distinguishable in a society; hence, we should use stronger tools than our physical senses , such as  our imagination  or intuition to see or comprehend what causes them to become stagnant _ with no progress in a society_ in addition to how it is possible to stimulate them to develop .
